A real metal coating applied as a cold liquid and cured to a solid metal surface. Genuine bronze, copper, brass, zinc, iron and gold, bonded to almost any substrate at a fraction of the weight of solid metal.
VeroMetal liquid metal kitchen and splashback
Liquid metal is a coating made from real metal particles suspended in a binder. In its wet state it is a cold liquid that can be brushed, rolled, trowelled or sprayed onto a prepared surface. As it cures, the metal consolidates into a continuous, solid metal skin bonded to the substrate.
Unlike effect paint or foil, VeroMetal® liquid metal is genuine metal on the surface. It oxidises, patinates and ages like the solid material it is made from. Bronze darkens, copper develops warm oxidation, and every finish can be polished or aged to the exact character a project calls for.
Liquid metal is applied cold, without heat, casting or foundry equipment. Three steps take it from a wet mixture to a durable, genuine metal surface.
Real metal particles are combined with a binder to form a cold, workable liquid metal in the chosen alloy.
The liquid is applied to a prepared substrate by brush, roller, trowel or spray, building a layer of only 120 to 150 microns.
Once cured, the surface is sanded, polished and, if desired, patinated or sealed to reach its final character.
VeroMetal® liquid metal is produced in a wide range of genuine metals, each available in multiple surface treatments and patina states.
The signature warm tone. Polishes to a rich shine or darkens with a deep patina for a classic real metal surface.
A warm, reddish-gold liquid metal that develops natural oxidation and green patina over time.
A bright, contemporary gold tone for statement surfaces, retail interiors and high-end architectural detail.
The most decorative finish, for feature elements, display furniture and bespoke objects.
A cool, soft grey with a restrained character, suited to modern architectural and interior schemes.
A pale, subtle grey with a quiet sheen, elegant on furniture, walls and fine detailing.
A deep, near-black liquid metal for dark, minimalist and contemporary interiors.
A raw, industrial finish that develops a living, evolving patina through exposure, chosen for its natural character.
Real metal where solid metal cannot go. Liquid metal brings the weight, depth and patina of genuine metal to surfaces that could never carry solid sheet.
Both deliver a genuine metal surface. The difference is weight, freedom of form and where each can realistically be used.
Liquid metal bronze on a wall cabinet
Because liquid metal is a thin coating rather than a fixed panel, it bonds to almost any prepared substrate. This gives designers and manufacturers a genuine metal surface on materials that could never be made from solid metal.
Liquid metal is specified across interior design, architecture, yacht building and industrial production. The same coating that finishes a kitchen or feature wall also clads facades, and coats components for original equipment manufacturers.
Liquid metal on exterior architecture
Liquid metal coating is a real metal finish applied in liquid form and cured to a solid metal surface. VeroMetal® liquid metal is made by mixing genuine metal particles, such as bronze, copper, brass or zinc, with a binder. The mixture is applied by brush, roller, trowel or spray at 120 to 150 microns, and once cured it behaves like solid metal. It can be sanded, polished, patinated and aged using standard metalworking techniques.
Yes. VeroMetal® liquid metal contains real metal particles, not pigment or effect paint. The cured surface is genuine metal, which is why it oxidises, patinates and ages exactly like solid bronze, copper or brass. This authenticity is the reason architects and interior designers specify liquid metal where a real metal surface is required.
Liquid metal is applied cold, without heat or specialist foundry equipment. The metal and binder are mixed and applied to a prepared substrate by brush, roller, trowel or spray at 120 to 150 microns. After curing, the surface is sanded and polished, and an optional patina or seal is applied to reach the desired finish. A certified applicator can carry this out on-site or in a workshop.
Liquid metal bonds to almost any substrate, including MDF, wood, plaster, concrete, glass, plastic, polyester and metal. Because it is applied as a thin coating rather than fixed as a panel, existing walls, furniture, doors and architectural elements can receive a genuine metal surface without structural modification or added weight loading.
Yes. A VeroMetal® liquid metal surface weighs approximately 0.5 kg/m² and is applied at only 120 to 150 microns, so it is a fraction of the weight of solid sheet metal of comparable appearance. This low weight is why liquid metal can be applied to lightweight substrates, curved forms and large surfaces where solid metal would be impractical, delivering real metal where solid metal cannot go.
Yes. Liquid metal is used on both interior and exterior surfaces, including facades and architectural elements. Finishes can be sealed for a stable appearance, or left open so the metal develops a natural patina over time. Iron and Corten finishes are chosen specifically for the living, evolving patina they develop through exposure.
