VeroMetal® is a real metal surface coating used by architects and interior designers worldwide. Containing genuine metal particles — bronze, copper, brass, zinc, iron, and manganese — VeroMetal is applied at 120–150 microns directly to walls, furniture, panels, and architectural elements. It delivers an authentic metal surface on virtually any substrate, without the structural demands of sheet metal.
Interior designers choose VeroMetal® because it combines the authenticity of solid metal with the practical advantages of a coating: bondable to almost any surface, workable on-site, and available in more than 15 metals and finishes.
VeroMetal Manganese interior surface
Most surface products simulate the appearance of metal without containing it. Foils, laminates, and standard metallic paints rely on visual effects rather than genuine material composition. VeroMetal® is fundamentally different: the coating is composed of actual metal particles suspended in a cold-workable resin binder.
This composition means VeroMetal® behaves like metal after application. The surface can be sanded, polished, patinated, and oxidised using standard metalworking techniques. Bronze surfaces develop authentic verdigris. Copper takes on warm oxidation tones. Iron finishes develop rust patina if left unsealed. These natural material processes are only possible because VeroMetal is a genuine metal product.
VeroMetal Bronze, kitchen surfaces
VeroMetal® applies to a wide range of substrates, making it one of the most flexible interior design materials available. Compatible surfaces include:
VeroMetal® can also be applied to curved and complex-profile surfaces, which is not possible with sheet metal or rigid cladding systems.
Interior designers evaluating metal as a surface material have several options. Each has different characteristics in terms of weight, cost, versatility, and appearance.
Genuine metal surface, but requires structural support for heavy panels. Cannot be applied to curved or complex profiles without specialist fabrication. High installation cost.
Easy to apply and low in cost, but contains no real metal. The appearance does not develop patina or texture and is not suitable where material authenticity is required.
Real metal composition. Applies to any substrate. Fraction of the weight of sheet metal. Workable on-site by architects, contractors, and certified applicators. Develops authentic patina over time.
VeroMetal Manganese, fireplace surround
VeroMetal® is specified by architects, interior designers, project developers, and contractors. The specification process involves selecting the metal finish from the VeroMetal range, choosing the application method, and determining the finishing treatment — sealed for maximum durability, or unsealed to allow natural patination.
VeroMetal offers a training and certification programme for applicators, ensuring consistent quality across projects. Completed VeroMetal projects include the Louvre Abu Dhabi display cabinets, Hotel Motto Vienna, Museum De Lakenhal, and the University of Sussex.
VeroMetal Copper, kitchen interior
VeroMetal® is a liquid metal coating containing real metal particles — bronze, copper, brass, zinc, iron, and more. It is applied directly to walls, furniture, panels, and architectural surfaces at a thickness of 120–150 microns. VeroMetal is used by architects, interior designers, and contractors as an alternative to sheet metal cladding, delivering genuine metal surfaces on any substrate.
VeroMetal® contains real metal particles; standard metallic paints do not. This fundamental difference means VeroMetal surfaces look, feel, and age like genuine metal — they develop authentic patina, can be polished or oxidised, and have real texture and depth. Standard paint finishes produce a simulated appearance that does not age naturally and cannot be worked or treated as real metal.
VeroMetal® is most commonly used for kitchen cabinetry, feature walls, fireplace surrounds, staircases, bar counters, reception desks, and bespoke furniture. The coating is suitable for any surface that can receive a primer coat. VeroMetal is equally suited to residential interiors, hospitality design, retail fit-outs, and cultural or institutional projects.
Yes. VeroMetal® is a durable interior surface material used in demanding environments including museum display cases at the Louvre Abu Dhabi and hospitality interiors at Hotel Motto Vienna. A sealed VeroMetal surface is abrasion-resistant and maintains its appearance with routine cleaning.
Yes. Interior designers, architects, and project developers can request VeroMetal® samples to assess the finish, texture, and weight of each metal before specifying it for a project. Sample information and technical documentation including datasheets are available through the VeroMetal website.
Our team supports architects, interior designers, developers, and OEMs from material selection through to certified application. Request samples, datasheets, or a project consultation.
