New Metal: VeroMetal® Lava Copper

New finish

Lava Copper: a copper with heat in it

Landgraaf, the Netherlands · August 2026

Some materials sit quietly in a room. Lava Copper is not one of them.

The newest finish in the VeroMetal range is a copper that has been pushed somewhere darker. Deep reds and browns settle into the recesses, almost black in places, while the copper lifts through wherever the light catches. The reference is not a rolled sheet of copper. It is cooled lava: crust, depth, heat that has passed through and left its mark.

Warmth without weight

Lava Copper does what copper has always done in interiors. It warms a space, it flatters low light, and it gives a surface something to say. What it does not do is limit you to the shapes a metal worker can fold, weld or cast.

It is applied cold onto whatever the design asks for: wood, MDF, plaster, concrete, glass, fibreglass, foam, plastic, aluminium. A curved reception desk, a sculpted column, a full feature wall, a bar front, a lift interior. Around 0.5 kg per square metre, against roughly 35 kg for solid sheet metal. The shape leads and the metal follows, which is the whole idea behind the system.

Design freedom in metal.

Every surface its own

That freedom carries through to the finish. The character of Lava Copper arrives by hand: sanded, brushed, patinated, blasted, polished back in places. Each route pulls something different out of the same material, which is why no two Lava Copper surfaces are ever identical. And because it is copper, it goes on living. It ages the way the metal ages, because it is that metal.

Available now

Lava Copper is in production in Landgraaf and available through the VeroMetal applicator network. Samples can be requested for projects, and the PBR material is available for visualisation work.
